The Joe Niekro Foundation’s newest Board Member Dee Stargell Speaks of her life with Willie and the aneurysm that nearly took her life

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Jimmy Scott, a reporter who had recently interviewed me on my life, Dad and the purpose and future of The Joe Niekro Foundation.  It was at that time that Jimmy informed me of a recent interview he had conducted with Dee Stargell, the former wife of the late baseball great, Willie Stargell.  It was then that I learned of the tragic cerebral aneurym Dee had suffered 34 years ago, that left her in a coma for 6 weeks and nearly took her life.  After intensive rehabilitation, Dee is a living and breathing miracle and a true testimony for aneurysm survivors all over the world.  Dee has now become an active part of the foundation board and will be extremely instrumental as we continue to reach people across the globe.  Please take the time to hear Parts 1 and 2 of Dee’s amazing interview.
