A Story of Hope

You have the power to be a Champion of Hope today. Ten-year-old Samuel’s bright smile masks the enormous challenges he faces every day. Born with a large, inoperable AVM-like mass in his brainstem and thalamus, Samuel and his family have embarked on a difficult journey filled with uncertainty. Yet, with the support of champions like you, they’ve found strength, community, and hope.

This is just one example of the challenges we face. Brain aneurysms affect approximately 1 in 50 people in the United States. AVMs, though much rarer, can have devastating effects on the thousands of individuals impacted. These potentially life-threatening conditions can strike anyone, at any time, often without warning. The Niekro AVM & Aneurysm Foundation champions hope for patients like Samuel and their families, providing vital support, education, and resources.

Looking Ahead

By increasing research funding to support an additional grant, we can accelerate the development of new treatments and innovative therapies. Expanding our patient programs will allow us to reach more patients and families nationwide, providing essential support through online communities and virtual groups. Lastly, adding mental health resources will address the emotional and psychological challenges faced by patients and their families, offering comprehensive care and fostering resilience

Increase our research funding to support five research grants instead of our typical four, accelerating potential treatments

Expand our patient programs, online communities and virtual support groups, to reach 25% more patients and families nationwide

Provide additional mental health resources to our community, ensuring that everyone has access to the support they need

Our Year-End Goal

We aim to raise $15,000 by December 31st to deepen our impact and improve lives.

$50 provides educational materials for five newly diagnosed patients
$100 funds a month of virtual support group meetings for our online community
$500 contributes to vital research that could lead to breakthrough treatments
