You have the power to be a Champion of Hope today.
A father and avid runner, Jason’s life changed in an instant when a ruptured brain aneurysm caused a stroke at work. Emergency surgery saved him, but he was left paralyzed and facing the uphill battle of relearning how to walk, and live with the effects of brain injury.
What he needed most was a community that understood—and he found it through the Young and Restless of Atlanta Stroke Support Group, now part of the Niekro Foundation’s network.
Surrounded by survivors who shared his journey,
Jason regained hope and eventually learned to run again.
Jason’s story is just one example of the challenges many face. Brain aneurysms affect 1 in 50 people in the U.S., and while AVMs are rarer, they can be equally devastating. These life-threatening conditions can strike anyone, at any time, often without warning. The Niekro AVM & Aneurysm Foundation gives survivors like Jason the resources and support to rebuild. Your generosity also funds research that could spare other families from the hardships he endured.
From funding vital research initiatives to expanding our support programs and raising awareness, each contribution has directly impacted the lives of those affected by aneurysms and AVMs. Together, we have fostered a stronger community, empowered countless individuals, and paved the way for innovative treatments and resources. Your support has been invaluable in driving this progress, and we look forward to continuing this important work together in the coming year.
By increasing research funding to support an additional grant, we can accelerate the development of new treatments and innovative therapies. Expanding our patient programs will allow us to reach more patients and families nationwide, providing essential support through online communities and virtual groups. Lastly, adding mental health resources will address the emotional and psychological challenges faced by patients and their families, offering comprehensive care and fostering resilience
Your donation isn’t just a financial contribution – it’s a lifeline for families like Jason’s. It funds critical medical research that could lead to new treatments. It supports our online communities and virtual support groups, ensuring that no one faces these challenges alone. It’s the hope that comes from knowing dedicated researchers are working tirelessly to find new solutions.
