The Fighter in All of Us

Just a few days ago, I wrote about Steve, an aneurysm survivor currently in extensive rehabilitation to regain his mobility.  Steve’s aneurysm took place in April and he spent over three months recovering at Barrow Neurological Institute.  Steve and I have become quite good friends over the last month; matter of fact, I have become quite close with his entire family.  They have been an inspiration as we have all watched Steve word hard everyday to get back to the life he is used to living.  Well, today I received a call from Shellie, informing me that Steve was taken into emergency surgery due to an infection in his brain flap.  Steve has been working hard to regain the strength necessary for him to undergo a second surgery for another aneurysm the doctors just recently found. That surgery was going to occur in November.  Lets hope that Steve’s set back today has not caused a set-back for the future.  Steve’s surgery today was successful but the road ahead is still a long one, so I ask that you keep Steve in your thoughts and prayers as he lies in ICU for the next several days.  Steve is a true fighter and I know that I for one, will be the soldier in the forefront of these prayers leading the way for God’s guidance to shine a quick recovery on him.
