The Joe Niekro Foundation sends well wishes to Bret Michaels

Today, we learn of yet another person fallen victim to the enemy we call a brain aneurysm.  Brett Michaels, former lead singer of the popular 80’s band, Poison, was rushed to the hospital late Thursday night after experiencing what he considered the worst headache of his life.  The Joe Niekro Foundation would like to extend our sincere sympathy to Brett’s family and friends, and to Brett, be strong!

To all those reading this, please note the severity of a brain aneurysm.  These fatal enemies are often times unexpected, undiagnosed and tragically debilitating.  Together, we can join in the fight to increase the level of awareness, the importance of aneurysm research and education, and help defeat this ugly condition.

God bless the fallen victims and families of brain aneurysms!

To highlight our impact and convey our mission with clarity, we are excited to announce that the Joe Niekro Foundation is now the Niekro Aneurysm and AVM Foundation. We look forward to building on the Niekro legacy and continuing our mission!
